‘When we’re renovating a home, it is our responsibility to find out how it has been functioning so far. We need to LEARN and USE the experience of the client to give them something better than what they currently have. If our ideas have already been suggested by someone else, implemented and FAILED, it is foolish to impose the same ones again just to satisfy our ego. Architects are creative people and can definitely come up with different options. After all that’s the reason we’re hired to provide customized solutions.’

The entire house was completed over a period of 14 years. TULZA DESIGNS first designed the master bedroom to welcome their daughter into the world. 12 years later we were back on site to complete the rest of the house in phases.

Residential Interiors at Aundh
The requirement for this project was that the space had to be a visitors’ area/library/den/office for the family. We renovated the entire space right from the flooring to the ceiling infusing it with functional aesthetics. A few walls were replaced with display and storage partitions to maximise space utilisation.

Clinics
Functional Aesthetics
All five senses come together in the confines of a space to create an indelible impact on the enclosed environment. An aura is generated which subtly affects the subconscious mind. This decides the level of comfort within a space. These criteria need to be specially taken care of in the designing of public spaces.
Dental Clinic for Dr. Jabade
The dental clinic for Dr. Jabade was situated in a load bearing building circular in the heart of Pune city. We renovated the entire clinic by opening up spaces enclosed in full height partitions and using a cheerful colour scheme. The space now appears bigger, brighter and patient friendly.

An experiment with bamboo. In the urban context where glass, wood, stone are commonly used materials, bamboo offers a softer, lighter option and is also very pleasing to the eye.

Greens & Olives Italian Restaurant at Aundh
This was a renovation job which required modifications to the existing interior. The owners wanted a Mediterranean look so we added flower balconies and wooden windows. We also fashioned a bar from an existing cash counter and put in an office and a restroom in the space. An artist’s paintings depicting typical scenes around Venice completed the look.
